📢 Short Information : Rail Wheel Factory (RWF), Yelahanka, Bangalore has released the notification for recruitment of eligible Sportspersons against Sports Quota (Open Advertisement) for the year 2026-27.

A total of 15 Sports Quota vacancies are available in Level-2 and Level-1. Eligible candidates can apply through the prescribed application form by post or drop the application directly in the prescribed Drop Box.

💡 Fee Payment: Fee must be paid through crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) / Demand Draft (DD) in favour of Principal Financial Adviser (PFA), Rail Wheel Factory, Yelahanka, Bangalore-560064, payable at Bangalore.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 25 Years
• Age will be calculated as on 01/01/2027
• Candidate should be born between 02/01/2002 to 01/01/2009 (both days inclusive).
• No age relaxation is permissible.
• Date of Birth will be accepted only as recorded in the 10th/Matriculation/Secondary Certificate or equivalent certificate.

Educational Qualification

Level-2 (GP-1900)

• Technician Grade-III: 10th Pass + National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT in relevant Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering Trades OR 10th Pass + ITI in relevant Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering Trades.
• Selected Technician candidates have to undergo 06 months training.
• 10th Pass candidates selected for Technician post have to undergo 02 years training, as applicable.
• Junior Clerk / Accounts Clerk: 12th (+2 Stage) Pass or equivalent.

Level-1 (GP-1800)

• 10th Pass OR ITI OR equivalent OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

Important: Minimum educational qualification must be possessed on the date of notification. Candidates appearing in final examination or awaiting final result are not eligible. No relaxation in minimum educational qualification is permissible.

Sports Eligibility / Sports Norms

Sports achievements on or after 01/04/2024 will be considered. The candidate must be an active player and the concluding date of the championship/event will be considered.

Level-2 (GP-1900)

• Represented the Country in any Category-B Championship/Event.
• OR secured at least 3rd position in any Category-C Championship/Event.
• OR secured at least 3rd position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships.
• OR secured at least 3rd position in National Games under Indian Olympic Association.
• OR secured at least 3rd position in All India Inter University Championship under Association of Indian Universities.
• OR secured 1st position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category).

Level-1 (GP-1800)

• Represented the Country in any Category-C Championship/Event.
• OR secured at least 3rd position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category).
• OR represented a State/equivalent Unit with at least 8th position in Senior National Championships, except Marathon and Cross Country.

International Championship Categories

Category-A: Olympic Games (Senior Category)

Category-B: World Cup (Junior/Youth/Senior), World Championships (Junior/Senior), Asian Games (Senior), Commonwealth Games (Senior), Youth Olympics, Champions Trophy (Hockey).

Category-C: Commonwealth Championships, Asian Championships/Asia Cup, South Asian Federation (SAF) Games, USIC World Railways Championships, World University Games.

Game-Wise Additional Eligibility

• Cricket (Men): For Level-2, representation in Main Indian Senior Team in 2 Test / 2 ODI / 2 T20 matches OR India-A / India U-19 Team in 2 Test / 2 ODI / 2 T20 matches. Also eligible: Quarter Finalist in Senior/U-23/U-19 All India Inter State Group Championship (except Plate Group), participation in Senior/U-23/U-19 All India Inter Zonal Championship or Challenger Trophy.
• Hockey (Men): For Level-2, participation in International Tournament of four or more nations and Semi-finalist in Senior National Championship may also be considered. Such candidates are also eligible for Level-1.
• Badminton: Level-2 current Annual All India Ranking: Senior Singles up to 20th, Youth Singles up to 6th, Junior Singles up to 6th. World Ranking: Senior Singles up to 70th and Junior Singles up to 50th.
• Table Tennis: Level-2 current Annual All India Ranking: Senior Singles up to 20th and Junior Singles up to 6th.
• Football (Men): Junior National Football Championship for B.C. Roy Trophy is considered for Under-19.
• Kabaddi (Men): Junior National Kabaddi Championship is considered for Under-20. Men's weight must be below 85 kg at the time of Trial.
• All championships must be conducted under recognized International/National/State Sports Federation and recognized by Railway Sports Promotion Board.

Minimum Qualifying Marks:
Level-2 (GP-1900): 65 Marks
Level-1 (GP-1800): 60 Marks
Sports Trial में 40 में से कम से कम 25 Marks प्राप्त करना आवश्यक है।

Note: यदि समान अंक प्राप्त होते हैं तो अधिक आयु वाले के स्थान पर younger candidate को preference दी जाएगी। चयन पूर्णतः merit के आधार पर होगा।

Syllabus / Sports Trial Details

RWF Sports Quota Recruitment में सामान्य लिखित परीक्षा syllabus नहीं है। Selection Sports Trial और Sports Achievement Assessment पर आधारित है।

Sports Trial – 40 Marks

• Game Skill / Technical Skill
• Physical Fitness
• Coach's Observation
• Discipline-specific performance
• Active Player Performance

Sports Achievement – 50 Marks

• Recognized National Championship performance
• International Championship performance
• Medal / Position secured
• Recognized ranking wherever applicable
• Applicable game-wise sports norms

Educational Qualification – 10 Marks

Educational qualification के आधार पर maximum 10 marks दिए जाएंगे।

Important: Candidate को अपने संबंधित Sports Discipline/Event/Position की practical trial तैयारी करनी चाहिए। कोई सामान्य CBT/Written Exam syllabus notification में निर्धारित नहीं है।

• Relevant Domicile Certificate for specified North-Eastern/other listed areas, wherever applicable
• Serving Government/PSU/Railway Employee: Office intimation and NOC at trial, as applicable

Important: All certificate copies enclosed with the application should be self-attested. Originals must be produced at Document Verification / Trials.

How to Apply

1. Official notification को ध्यान से पढ़ें।
2. Annexure-I Application Form को अच्छे quality के white A4 size paper पर print करें।
3. Application form English या Hindi में अपने handwriting से blue ballpoint pen से भरें।
4. अपने Sports Discipline, Event और Position को clearly indicate करें।
5. Recent passport size photograph निर्धारित स्थान पर affix करें।
6. Signature और Left Thumb Impression स्पष्ट रूप से करें।
7. सभी आवश्यक certificates की self-attested photocopies लगाएं।
8. Prescribed Examination Fee के लिए IPO/DD संलग्न करें।
9. Application को निर्धारित address पर post करें या Personnel Department के Drop Box में जमा करें।
10. Envelope के ऊपर लिखें:

Important Instructions

• Recruitment is purely merit based.
• No post is exclusively reserved for SC/ST/OBC.
• All recruitments will be at the minimum scale of pay.
• Applications received after the closing date will be rejected.
• Incomplete applications will be rejected.
• Applications without prescribed fee will be rejected.
• Applications without signature/LTI may be rejected.
• Photograph should not be attested by candidate or any authority.
• Only self-attested certificates enclosed with the application will be considered.
• Original documents must be produced during Document Verification/Trials.
• No TA/DA or accommodation will be provided for selection/trials.
• Candidate has to bring his/her own sports kit.
• Candidates may have to stay for 2-3 days at their own arrangement.
• Candidates applying for more than one game/event must submit separate applications with separate examination fee.
• Government/PSU/Railway employees must intimate their office and produce NOC at trials.
• Selected candidates will undergo medical examination.
• Probation period will be 2 years.
• Selected sportspersons will have to perform in their field of sports for minimum 5 years.
• Service Bond period is 5 years.
• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
• RWF has not appointed any agent or coaching centre for this recruitment.
